A reminder
Good Morning PA Peeps!
This morning I got a FB message from one of my coworkers who is also an RNY patient. She had some very kind words for me and my journey so far. I mentioned in one of my posts that my friend from AZ was in and she came to visit us on Thursday. She is also an RNY patient and she looked too skinny!! She is currently going through a divorce from her husband that has been a real jerk to her and their kids. My other coworker told me not to compare myself to her or to make light of all of my accomplishments. You know I do that!! I think she knew that too, and decided to reach out to me and let me know how successful I have been.
I know that I am a WHOLE lot healthier than I was two years ago, but it is difficult sometimes to see others who have lost more than me. I know that I had a lot more weight to lose than my friend did, but it is still challenging. There are times I forget how heavy I was and how much weight I have lost. I look at my before picture alot more now, just to reassure myself that I AM a success story!!!
There are many of you out there who have also been very supportive of me and my journey and I TRULY appreciate that!! I love you all!
It was nice to get a reminder from someone else who "Gets it!"
This is just a reminder to me and you all out there, don't compare and be proud of all of your successes!!
Love, Beth

Someone once told me that comparing is emotional sucide and like you I had many friends who started their journies around the same time and all got to goal by 7-9 months, I so often felt like I was a failure in their presence, however, we all have our own path to transverse and the truth is as you said, coming from you have done and awesome job and guess what, success is not a destination, but a journey and one that as Shauna coined the phrase, continues, therefore the word "successing". Look at Nan and her accomplishment and let that be your hope that you too can stay the course, as it's a lifetime journey and just like anyone traveling this road, there are detours, but with friends like the ones we've made here, we don't ever have to wind up lost and alone. . .
You are a great successing story that continues to more successful experiences. . .
Remember the joy is in the journey and from what I know you have picked up lots of joy along the way.
Hugs, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
